I Hail from a beautiful village in Kerala, surrounded with blue mountains and rivers, valleys and paddy fields, natural waterfalls and thick forest, a place where the breeze which carry wonderful scents of wild florets - where the streams are filled with tiny fishes and flooded with fresh water which comes from Nilagiri hills - where the coconut palms swing gently to the rhythm of the waft which emerges from mountains in the back ground - where the night-birds sweetly sing their tales to the moonlight and starlight – where the hills, trees and rivers (Chaliyar, Karimpuzha, Kuthirapuzha and Kalakapuzha) sing together about the immortal story of the nature - where the people believe in a multi religious culture but live in perfect harmony. Yes, this was the picture of my native home town “Nilambur” around four decades ago. Still I do like to remember about that impressive ecological beauty with a greatest nostalgic sense.
